"New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music"

The Mississippi Humanities Council is currently sponsoring the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibit: New Harmonies, Celebrating American Roots Music, an interactive exhibit portraying the ongoing cultural processes that have made American (and Mississippi) the birthplace of more music than any place on earth. The exhibit opened at the MSU Riley Center in Meridian in late March and will travel to five additional locations across the state through January of 2008.

MS Oral History Program

The Mississippi Oral History Program is a joint venture by a state agency, a state university, and the Mississippi Humanities Council to document and preserve the history and culture of this state through a statewide oral history project.
