HTA Lecture: “Swiftly Romantic: The Parallel Lives of Clara Schumann and Taylor Swift”

Dr. Anna Morgan will present the 2026 Humanities Teacher Award lecture for Itawamba Community College titled “Swiftly Romantic: The Parallel Lives of Clara Schumann and Taylor Swift.”
“Swiftly Romantic: The Parallel Lives of Clara Schumann and Taylor Swift” is on the corresponding careers of Clara Schumann and Taylor Swift. Both were composer-performers who balanced their public and private personas, ventured through male-dominated fields, and gained economic independence through music. Dr. Morgan will be playing excerpts from both artists on the piano.
The lecture will take place on the Itawamba Community College campus on February 3, 2026, at 6 p.m.
