Dark Corner Reunion

On July 11, 2026, Foxfire Ranch invites our kinfolk, and community to a neighborhood reunion from 10 AM to 6PM celebrating over 250 years of Black land stewardship, story, and song.
Rooted in the living traditions from our nook of the North Mississippi Hill Country— the day weaves together remembrance, planting ceremonies, community quilting, podcast listening shrines, and blues performances into a constellation of culture and connection.
🤲🏿 Come ready to share a story, plant a seed, honor the departed, and dance — because the promised land has always been within us, within each other.
🎟️ RSVPS open this Monday, 6/22.
By the People: Conversations Beyond 250 is a series of community-driven programs created by humanities councils in collaboration with local partners. The initiative was developed by the Federation of State Humanities Councils and the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.
