HTA Lecture: “For Such a Time as This: How Media is Being Challenged and Changed in the 21st Century”

Erin Pickens Wansley will present the 2026 Humanities Teacher Award lecture for Tougaloo College titled “For Such a Time as This: How Media is Being Challenged and Changed in the 21st Century.”
“For Such a Time as This: How Media is Being Challenged and Changed in the 21st Century” will take a look at how the shift from traditional media to interactive platforms led to the seismic shift in how people view media today. View, not only in how people watch or read it, but the growth of misinformation and distrust in media.
The lecture will take place on the Tougaloo College campus on March 25, 2026, at 11 a.m.
