DESCRIPTION:Humanities Teacher Award winner Heather Peerboom (Pearl River Community College) will present her public lecture\, “Health and Social Wellbeing: The Benefits of Bookreading”. This presentation will be held in the PRCC Forrest County Center. Reception to follow. \nThe average time Americans spend reading has been in steady decline. At the same time\, many administrators are making the argument for removing literature from the list of required core curricula. This presentation responds to that argument by exploring the personal and social benefits of reading literature.
