DESCRIPTION:Featuring selections from Thad Lee’s year-long documentary photography project\, Unvanquished Soil: A Year at Greenfield Farm explores the legacy of William Faulkner’s mule farm. A place once shaped by work\, community\, and the families who called it home\, now reclaimed by nature\, Greenfield will soon reemerge as the home of Greenfield Farm Writers Residency. Presented across multiple university venues\, including the Gammill Gallery at Barnard Observatory\, Unvanquished Soil opens in April 2026 at the University of Mississippi Museum. This official America250 project was made possible by a grant from the Mississippi Humanities Council\, through support from the State of Mississippi.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a free event featuring a screening of Everlasting: Life and Legacy of Medgar Evers at 2 p.m. on Sunday\, July 19\, in the Craig H. Neilsen Auditorium at the Two Mississippi Museums. A 60-minute showing of this two hour documentary features interviews with Evers’s family\, colleagues\, and historians honoring the life\, work\, and impact of Medgar Evers. Everlasting offers a personal look at his legacy as a husband and father in the fight for civil rights. Following the screening\, a panel conversation will feature moderator John Spann of the Mississippi Humanities Council\, director Taiwo Gaynor\, and Olivia Spann\, supervisory park ranger at the Medgar and Myrlie Evers Home National Monument.
