SUMMARY:HTA - The Journey Home: Literary Narratives and PTSD
DESCRIPTION:Humanities Teacher Award winner Dr. Tammy Townsend (Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College) will present her public lecture\, “The Journey Home: Literary Narratives and PTSD”. This presentation will be held on the Harrison County campus in Building U\, Room 202. \nThe presentation will cover how cognitive therapy exists in psychoanalysis sessions and in English classes. According to new research\, reading literary narratives makes us better people. Through the study of classic literary narratives\, we share the hero’s journey and learn how to order our own experiences into a coherent narrative that helps us put ourselves into the context of our lives.
