What happens when an artist envisions a center for arts and culture in a long-abandoned school? Or when an educator sees a new home for the Boys and Girls Club in a condemned hotel? Local leaders who also wear a preservation hat often start with a spark of an idea that leads to creative collaboration and community transformation. Lolly Rash, Executive Director of the Mississippi Heritage Trust, will share some of her favorite stories of once endangered historic buildings that have been repurposed to become the places that define communities.
After serving as a board member, board president and volunteer for Mississippi Heritage Trust for many years, Lolly took over as Executive Director in 2013. Lolly has over twenty years of experience in historic preservation, including her work as Historical Administrator for the City of Biloxi, Program Manager for the National Trust for Historic Preservation and Vice President of White House Properties.
